In November 2009 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Composition, 1981 by Manuel Cargaleiro. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,906.00 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Manuel Cargaleiro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Medina, 1980 in March 2009 with an auction result of EUR 40,193.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im November 2009 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition, 1981 von Manuel Cargaleiro zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.906,00 und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manuel Cargaleiro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Medina, 1980 im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 40.193,00.
