Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Art Contemporain Evening Sale, which included the work Cuadro 83 by Manolo Millares. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 436,000.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manolo Millares - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Composition) Painting no. 4, which sold at auction in June 2016 for GBP 842,500.00 (€ 1,011,274.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Art Contemporain Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cuadro 83 von Manolo Millares zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 436.000,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Manolo Millares mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Composition) Painting no. 4 beobachtet, die im Juni 2016 für GBP 842.500,00 (€ 1.011.274,93) versteigert wurde.
