This artwork by Manjit Bawa achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Untitled (Shiva on Nandi) sold for USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,950.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Manjit Bawa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Devi) in March last year with an auction result of USD 1,108,800.00 (€ 999,549.27).

In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Shiva on Nandi) für USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.950,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Manjit Bawa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Devi) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.108.800,00 (€ 999.549,27).
