In March this year Bonhams held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art Online, which included the work Bhavna - I by Manjit Bawa. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 765.00 (€ 870.34), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Manjit Bawa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Devi) in March last year with an auction result of USD 1,108,800.00 (€ 999,549.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bhavna - I von Manjit Bawa zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 765,00 (€ 870,34) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Manjit Bawa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Devi) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.108.800,00 (€ 999.549,27).
