This artwork by Malcolm Hughes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2008. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Four Unit Painting (A;B;C;D) sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,461.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Malcolm Hughes; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot White and Aluminium 1967 sold at auction in March 2018 with the realized price of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,977.41).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Malcolm Hughes; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit White and Aluminium 1967 im März 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 5.977,41).
