Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Double Unit (No. 3a & 3b) by Malcolm Hughes. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,549.28), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Malcolm Hughes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work White and Aluminium 1967, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,977.41).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Double Unit (No. 3a & 3b) von Malcolm Hughes zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.549,28) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Malcolm Hughes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit White and Aluminium 1967 beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 5.977,41) versteigert wurde.
