Three embossed woodblock prints of a Chawan (Tea bowl) on shikishi (square drawing paper): comprising HANTO_WAN 41, edition number 201/211; HANTO_WAN 52, edition number 139/211; and HANTO_WAN 44, edition number 101/211; each signed in Roman script H.MAKI in pencil with a red seal Maki Haku. Each approx., 27.2cm x 24.2cm (10 11/16in x 9 9/16in). (3).

A top price for Maki Haku - as previously expected
The work Unknown by Maki Haku was auctioned at Bonhams in London in May this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 768.00 (€ 893.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Unknown is the most expensive artwork by Maki Haku that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Unknown von Maki Haku kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 768,00 (€ 893,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Unknown das teuerste Kunstwerk von Maki Haku, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
