Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jeune fille à la rose (Young Lady with a Rose) by Mai Trung Thu was sold in the 20th Century Art Day Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 500,000.00 – 650,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 60,409.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mai Trung Thu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Mademoiselle Phuong in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 24,375,000.00 (€ 2,609,725.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Jeune fille à la rose (Young Lady with a Rose) von Mai Trung Thu wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 500.000,00 – 650.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 60.409,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mai Trung Thu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Mademoiselle Phuong im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 24.375.000,00 (€ 2.609.725,69).
