Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2009 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Iranian and Arab Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Lignes Rouges, 2008 –Red Lines, 2008 by Mahjoub Ben Bella. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 7,650.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mahjoub Ben Bella have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,592.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2009 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Iranian and Arab Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lignes Rouges, 2008 –Red Lines, 2008 von Mahjoub Ben Bella zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 7.650,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mahjoub Ben Bella auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 61.592,90).
