The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,750.00 (€ 26,581.20), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Maerten de Vos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Gathering of Manna in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 100,150.00 (€ 159,743.13).
