Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Creation Of Eve by Maerten de Vos was sold in the Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 30,240.00 (€ 24,799.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Maerten de Vos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Gathering of Manna in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 100,150.00 (€ 159,743.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Creation Of Eve von Maerten de Vos wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 24.799,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maerten de Vos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Gathering of Manna im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 100.150,00 (€ 159.743,13).
