Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bacchus Seated In A Landscape, The Harvest To His Right And A Town Below: An Allegory Of Autumn by Maerten de Vos was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,759.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maerten de Vos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Gathering of Manna in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 100,150.00 (€ 159,743.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bacchus Seated In A Landscape, The Harvest To His Right And A Town Below: An Allegory Of Autumn von Maerten de Vos im Januar 2010 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.759,19) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maerten de Vos erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Gathering of Manna im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 100.150,00 (€ 159.743,13).
