Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Abraham And Melchizedek by Maerten de Vos. The »bidding war« ended at USD 86,500.00 (€ 59,560.70), 24% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maerten de Vos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Gathering of Manna, which sold at auction in July 2002 for GBP 100,150.00 (€ 159,743.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abraham And Melchizedek von Maerten de Vos zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 59.560,70) und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Maerten de Vos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Gathering of Manna beobachtet, die im Juli 2002 für GBP 100.150,00 (€ 159.743,13) versteigert wurde.
