Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Masters of the Universe) by MADSAKI was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 900,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 889,000.00 (€ 104,092.81). Admittedly, works by MADSAKI have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Birth of Venus II in May last year with an auction result of HKD 4,788,000.00 (€ 568,438.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Masters of the Universe) von MADSAKI im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 900.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 889.000,00 (€ 104.092,81) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von MADSAKI auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Birth of Venus II im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.788.000,00 (€ 568.438,36).
