Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (shrouded figure/ lady), double sided by Madge Gill was sold in the Outsider Art auction at Christies in New York in February last year. The price achieved of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,672.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Madge Gill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, 1951 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,409.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (shrouded figure/ lady), double sided von Madge Gill wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.672,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Madge Gill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, 1951 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.409,90).
