Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Whiskey Bottle by Maclean Edwards was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in August 2003. The price achieved of AUD 3,055.00 (€ 1,804.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maclean Edwards achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lamplight in August 2003 with an auction result of AUD 32,900.00 (€ 19,435.74).

Die Arbeit Whiskey Bottle von Maclean Edwards kam im August 2003 bei Christies in Sydney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.055,00 (€ 1.804,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maclean Edwards erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lamplight im August 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 32.900,00 (€ 19.435,74).
