Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work On The Beach, Ogunquit, Maine by Mabel May Woodward for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,154.29). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mabel May Woodward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work At The Beach in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 15,275.00 (€ 18,025.73).
