Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Best Of Friends by Mabel Gear was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,062.80). Other works by Mabel Gear have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November this year by the work Black and White - A Pair of Poodles at GBP 2,560.00 (€ 2,966.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Best Of Friends von Mabel Gear im November 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.434,00 (€ 2.062,80) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Mabel Gear wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November diesen Jahres die Arbeit Black and White - A Pair of Poodles mit GBP 2.560,00 (€ 2.966,48).
