In October 2012 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy In Xingshu by Ma Xulun. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 75,000.00 (€ 7,466.43), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ma Xulun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poetry Of The Tang Dynasty, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 177,000.00 (€ 19,941.70).

Im Oktober 2012 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Xingshu von Ma Xulun zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 7.466,43) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ma Xulun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poetry Of The Tang Dynasty beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 177.000,00 (€ 19.941,70) versteigert wurde.
