Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy In Xingshu by Ma Xulun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 35,000.00 (€ 4,000.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ma Xulun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poetry Of The Tang Dynasty in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 177,000.00 (€ 19,941.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Xingshu von Ma Xulun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 35.000,00 (€ 4.000,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ma Xulun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poetry Of The Tang Dynasty im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 177.000,00 (€ 19.941,70).
