Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Meroe, Sudan, #38 by Lynn Davis for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,272.16). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Lynn Davis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Iceberg #30, Disko Bay, Greenland, 2000 in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 36,250.00 (€ 32,496.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Meroe, Sudan, #38 von Lynn Davis für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.272,16) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lynn Davis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Iceberg #30, Disko Bay, Greenland, 2000 im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.250,00 (€ 32.496,64).
