Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Photographs, which included the work Iceberg Xiv by Lynn Davis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,710.00 (€ 9,195.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lynn Davis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Iceberg #30, Disko Bay, Greenland, 2000, which sold at auction in October 2019 for USD 36,250.00 (€ 32,496.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Iceberg Xiv von Lynn Davis zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.710,00 (€ 9.195,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Lynn Davis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Iceberg #30, Disko Bay, Greenland, 2000 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für USD 36.250,00 (€ 32.496,64) versteigert wurde.
