oval, 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.) high, gilt-metal mount within blue glass surround and outer gilt-metal frame, the reverse with a sepia and hair memorial miniature, inscribed on the base of the monument 'IN MEMORY OF SIR JOHN CLERKE' and on banner at top of miniature 'IT FALLS TO RISE AGAIN'
