Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fishermen mending baskets, Isle of Wight by Luke Clennell was auctioned at Christies in London in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,585.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luke Clennell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Launching The Life Boat, which sold at auction in November 2005 for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,404.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fishermen mending baskets, Isle of Wight von Luke Clennell kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.585,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Luke Clennell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Launching The Life Boat beobachtet, die im November 2005 für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.404,40) versteigert wurde.
