The work Sai Kung (Painted In 1976) by Luis Chan was sold in the Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April 2021. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 153,400.00 (€ 16,423.87), 53% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luis Chan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978), which sold at auction in October last year for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 64,585.46).

Die Arbeit Sai Kung (Painted In 1976) von Luis Chan wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 153.400,00 (€ 16.423,87) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Luis Chan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978) beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 64.585,46) versteigert wurde.
