Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Phoenix Rising by Luis Chan was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. It changed hands for a price of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 20,543.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luis Chan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978), which sold at auction in October last year for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 64,585.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Phoenix Rising von Luis Chan kam im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 20.543,15) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Luis Chan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978) beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 64.585,46) versteigert wurde.
