In July 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Fantasy Landscape - Beach by Luis Chan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 100,000.00 (€ 10,956.34), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Luis Chan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978) in October last year with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 64,585.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fantasy Landscape - Beach von Luis Chan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 10.956,34) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luis Chan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978) im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 64.585,46).
