This work of art by Luigi Monteverde could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work A Chance Meeting changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 5,953.14) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Luigi Monteverde have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Prank in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 34,916.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luigi Monteverde konnte im Juni 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit A Chance Meeting für USD 9.375,00 (€ 5.953,14) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luigi Monteverde auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Prank im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 34.916,20).
