Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Luigi Ademollo could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Two Studies Of Soldiers: A) A Fighting Soldier B) A Wounded Soldier changed hands for USD 4,688.00 (€ 3,472.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luigi Ademollo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ten Scenes After The Antique With Trompe L'Oeil Bas-Relief Friezes in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 59,260.90).
