Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Morning Prayer by Ludwig Deutsch was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 700,000.00 – 1,000,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 675,000.00 (€ 782,951.59). Admittedly, works by Ludwig Deutsch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Tribute in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 4,298,400.00 (€ 4,985,835.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Morning Prayer von Ludwig Deutsch im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 675.000,00 (€ 782.951,59) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ludwig Deutsch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Tribute im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.298.400,00 (€ 4.985.835,73).
