Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Council Of Elders by Ludwig Deutsch was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,039.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludwig Deutsch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Tribute in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 4,298,400.00 (€ 4,985,835.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Council Of Elders von Ludwig Deutsch im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.039,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ludwig Deutsch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Tribute im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.298.400,00 (€ 4.985.835,73).
