The work The Chess Players by Ludwig Deutsch was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 759,000.00 (€ 880,385.57), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 27%. Admittedly, works by Ludwig Deutsch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Tribute in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 4,298,400.00 (€ 4,985,835.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Chess Players von Ludwig Deutsch kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 759.000,00 (€ 880.385,57) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 27%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ludwig Deutsch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Tribute im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.298.400,00 (€ 4.985.835,73).
