Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,151.49), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lucien-Victor Guirand de Scévola - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The King's Daughter, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 73,000.00 (€ 50,456.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit French La Princesse von Lucien-Victor Guirand de Scévola wurde im November 2009 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.151,49) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Lucien-Victor Guirand de Scévola mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The King's Daughter beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 73.000,00 (€ 50.456,18) versteigert wurde.
