In July 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work St. Giovanni Gualberto; Spandrels: The Prophets Habakkuk And Jonah by Luca di Tommè. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 914,850.00 (€ 1,038,080.52), 52% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Luca di Tommè; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot San Bernardo Degli Uberti; Spandrels: The Prophets Hosea And Jeremiah sold at auction in July 2009 with the realized price of GBP 937,250.00 (€ 1,063,497.81).
