It achieved a price of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,342.23), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lu Zhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The South Marsh in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,625,000.00 (€ 625,442.99).

Die Arbeit Gazing At A Waterfall von Lu Zhi wurde im September 2016 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.342,23) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lu Zhi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The South Marsh im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.625.000,00 (€ 625.442,99).
