Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spider Iv by Louise Bourgeois was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. It changed hands for a price of USD 14,679,200.00 (€ 12,337,535.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000,000.00 – 15,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louise Bourgeois - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spider, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 32,055,000.00 (€ 28,751,457.53).

Die Arbeit Spider Iv von Louise Bourgeois wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 14.679.200,00 (€ 12.337.535,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000.000,00 – 15.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Louise Bourgeois mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spider beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 32.055.000,00 (€ 28.751.457,53) versteigert wurde.
