Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Janus in Leather Jacket by Louise Bourgeois was auctioned at Christies in London in June last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 350,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 352,800.00 (€ 409,853.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louise Bourgeois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spider in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 32,055,000.00 (€ 28,751,457.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Janus in Leather Jacket von Louise Bourgeois kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 350.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 352.800,00 (€ 409.853,24) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louise Bourgeois erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spider im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.055.000,00 (€ 28.751.457,53).
