In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Small Ginger Cat by Louis Wain. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,657.50 (€ 1,976.51), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Wain achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Come Birdie Come and Live with Me in November this year with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 44,497.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Small Ginger Cat von Louis Wain zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.657,50 (€ 1.976,51) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Wain erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Come Birdie Come and Live with Me im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 44.497,25).
