In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work A time for peaceful prayer by Louis Welden Hawkins. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,722.85), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Welden Hawkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Préludes in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 66,000.00 (€ 97,952.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A time for peaceful prayer von Louis Welden Hawkins zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.112,50 (€ 6.722,85) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Welden Hawkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Préludes im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 66.000,00 (€ 97.952,26).
