Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait Of A Man by Louis Tocqué was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2014. It achieved a price of USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,740.74), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Tocqué achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Louis Philippe Joseph, Duc D'Orleans And Duc De Chartres in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 218,500.00 (€ 167,394.47).
