In June this year Christies in New York held the auction Maîtres Anciens : Peintures - Sculptures, which included the work Portrait en buste du marquis Charles David Godefroy de Senneville by Louis Tocqué. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 94,500.00 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Louis Tocqué; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Louis Philippe Joseph, Duc D'Orleans And Duc De Chartres sold at auction in January 2012 with the realized price of USD 218,500.00 (€ 167,394.47).

Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Maîtres Anciens : Peintures - Sculptures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait en buste du marquis Charles David Godefroy de Senneville von Louis Tocqué zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 94.500,00 und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Louis Tocqué; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait Of Louis Philippe Joseph, Duc D'Orleans And Duc De Chartres im Januar 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 218.500,00 (€ 167.394,47).
