Auction result well in line with expectations
The work "Le Feu Aux Poudres" by Louis-Roland Trinquesse was sold in the Important Old Master and 19th Century Paintings from the Collection of Jacob Elie Safra auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2011. The price achieved of USD 92,500.00 (€ 67,444.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Roland Trinquesse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An interior with two ladies and a gentleman in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 968,000.00 (€ 757,848.59).
