This artwork by Louis Robert James achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in May 2005. In the PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION auction, the work Aerial sold for AUD 5,019.00 (€ 3,085.21) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Robert James - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Night, which sold at auction in August 2002 for AUD 11,750.00 (€ 6,584.36).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis Robert James erzielte im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION wurde die Arbeit Aerial für AUD 5.019,00 (€ 3.085,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis Robert James mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Night beobachtet, die im August 2002 für AUD 11.750,00 (€ 6.584,36) versteigert wurde.
