This artwork by Louis Michel Eilshemius achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in June 2015. In the Interiors auction, the work Bathers at Evening sold for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,284.38) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Louis Michel Eilshemius; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ballet Girls sold at auction in June 2015 with the realized price of USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,327.42).
