Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Charles Claude Flahault De La Billarderie, Comte D'Angiviller (1730-1810), Three-Quarter Length, With A Child Holding A Basket Of Flowers by Louis-Gabriel Blanchet was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2011. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 44,612.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis-Gabriel Blanchet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of The Artist Giovanni Paolo Panini (1691–1765) in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 245,000.00 (€ 291,113.00).
