Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Louis Dodd could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Marine Sale auction, the work A Squadron Of The Royal Navy In A Breeze; 52 Gun Man-Of-War And Other Shipping Off The Coast changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,676.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis Dodd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Charleston built frigate John Adams with the American fleet on the Guadeloupe station under Commodore Truxtun at Basseterre, St. Christoper's and Nevis, Leeward Islands, West Indies in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 9,987.50 (€ 16,026.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis Dodd konnte im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Marine Sale wechselte die Arbeit A Squadron Of The Royal Navy In A Breeze; 52 Gun Man-Of-War And Other Shipping Off The Coast für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.676,02) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Dodd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Charleston built frigate John Adams with the American fleet on the Guadeloupe station under Commodore Truxtun at Basseterre, St. Christoper's and Nevis, Leeward Islands, West Indies im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.987,50 (€ 16.026,25).
