Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait Of A Lady, Believed To Be Anna Constanze, Countess Of Cosel (1680 – 1765), Three-Quarter Length, Dressed In Green And Pink Silks And Playing A Lute by Louis de Silvestre II was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,500.00 – 6,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,250.00 (€ 5, Admittedly, works by Louis de Silvestre II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Augustus closing the Temple of Janus in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 52,875.00 (€ 56,684.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Believed To Be Anna Constanze, Countess Of Cosel (1680 – 1765), Three-Quarter Length, Dressed In Green And Pink Silks And Playing A Lute von Louis de Silvestre II im April 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.500,00 – 6.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.250,00 (€ 5.836,23) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis de Silvestre II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Augustus closing the Temple of Janus im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.875,00 (€ 56.684,18).
