Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Tree and Leaves, Comfort Lodge, Florida by Louis Comfort Tiffany was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,469.02). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Comfort Tiffany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Florida in March 2005 with an auction result of USD 156,000.00 (€ 120,286.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Tree and Leaves, Comfort Lodge, Florida von Louis Comfort Tiffany im März 2010 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.469,02) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Comfort Tiffany erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Florida im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 156.000,00 (€ 120.286,84).
