The work La Place de la Republique by Louis Béroud was sold in the The European Art Sale Part I auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 100,800.00 (€ 89,903.67), 68% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Béroud - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Frenchles Joies De L'Inondation (Dans La Galerie Médicis), which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 350,500.00 (€ 260,536.68).

Die Arbeit La Place de la Republique von Louis Béroud wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion The European Art Sale Part I bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 89.903,67) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis Béroud mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Frenchles Joies De L'Inondation (Dans La Galerie Médicis) beobachtet, die im November 2011 für USD 350.500,00 (€ 260.536,68) versteigert wurde.
