This artwork by Louis Béroud achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector auction, the work An Elegantly Dressed Copyist at the Louvre sold for USD 35,280.00 (€ 32,876.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis Béroud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Frenchles Joies De L'Inondation (Dans La Galerie Médicis) in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 350,500.00 (€ 260,536.68).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis Béroud erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector wurde die Arbeit An Elegantly Dressed Copyist at the Louvre für USD 35.280,00 (€ 32.876,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Béroud auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Frenchles Joies De L'Inondation (Dans La Galerie Médicis) im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.500,00 (€ 260.536,68).
